The production standard of extruder machine is very high. Manufacturers need to test each component, evaluate the overall performance of the machine, and ensure they are qualified before the products leave the factory, so often this kind of equipment can be used normally in the later stage and exert the efficiency of the machine. But if the operation is improper or the working environment is not up to standard, there may still be malfunctions. What are the common failures of extruder machine?
1. Screw wear
The normal wear of the screw and barrel of the extruder machine mainly occurs in the feeding area. The main cause of wear is the high hardness of the raw material before melting and the friction with the metal surface of the screw element. When the material heats up and softens, the wear would slow down.
2. Abnormal noise
If it happens in the gearbox, it may be caused by damaged bearings or poor lubrication, or it may be caused by improper gear installation and adjustment or poor meshing. It can be solved by replacing bearings to improve lubrication and changing gears or adjusting gear meshing conditions. If the noise of the extruder machine is a sharp scraping sound, the center position of the barrel should be considered to be deviated, and the possibility of scraping the shaft head and the transmission sleeve can be solved by adjusting the barrel. If the heat-resistant and abrasion-resistant extruder machine barrel makes noise, it may be that the screw is bent to sweep the bore or the set temperature is too low to cause excessive friction of solid particles. It can be handled by straightening the screw or increasing the set temperature.
3. Abnormal vibration
If this happens at the gearbox of the extruder machine, it is caused by the wear of the bearings and gears, which can be solved by replacing the bearings or gears; if it happens at the barrel, it is because of hard foreign substances mixed in the material, and the extruder machine needs to be checked. When the material is clean, if necessary, install a strong magnetic device in the hopper to absorb iron filings.
On the whole, the fault judgment criteria of the extruder machine are relatively fine. If it is daily maintained and overhauled, the fault can be identified at a glance. According to the statistics of relevant persons, it is found that a large number of extruder machine failures are due to daily maintenance. The maintenance work is not in place or has not been implemented, so it must be regarded as the top priority and targeted maintenance in daily use.
