Twin screw extruders (TSEs) offer convenient operation for operators who only need to undergo initial training to easily master the techniques. In terms of maintenance, operators can easily detect the wear and tear of the thread and barrel and perform relevant repairs and components replacement according to their condition, resulting in a longer lifespan for the machines and cost savings for the enterprises.
TSEs can reduce production costs. Regular maintenance requires extensive cleaning of the entire machine, consuming time and labor. However, TSEs can quickly open the machine casing for cleaning, reducing the consumption of materials and cleaning agents and thus saving costs.
TSEs can effectively extrude plastic products, and their twin screw structure offers strong interchangeability, allowing operators to choose different components according to the material properties and requirements, facilitating their use and meeting the enterprise's needs to improve operating efficiency. Therefore, TSEs have received high praise from many people.
When using twin screw extruders, check the internal sealing of the barrel and hopper and check for foreign objects. If any problems are found, deal with them promptly.
Start the screw at a low speed, avoid excessive idling time, and follow the requirements of the TSE manufacturer for checking the purity of each batch of material to prevent impurities from mixing in. If there are temperature display problems, use a mercury thermometer to measure the mold and barrel temperature to ensure they meet requirements.
Check all parts of the equipment in a certain order. If you find that the coupling does not rotate during the carriage, or there are abnormal noises during screw rotation, disassemble and reassemble the screw.
When cleaning the screw, do not use steel tools, but use copper brushes. When replacing bearings, adjust the spring position and avoid installing them in the wrong position. Use specialized tools to disassemble the screw and follow the corresponding order. After removing the screw, clean the residue while it is still hot, but do not dismantle the components.
